Same-Game Parlay (SGP)

/same game PAR-lay/

The +EV Bets TeamJanuary 14, 2025
Definition
A same-game parlay combines multiple bets from the same game into one wager. Unlike traditional parlays, SGP legs can be correlated (e.g., player over on rushing + team wins). Sportsbooks adjust odds for correlations, but SGPs can still offer value in certain situations.
Example

Chiefs vs Raiders SGP: Chiefs -3 + Mahomes over 275 passing + Kelce anytime TD. If Chiefs are winning big, Mahomes likely throws for 275+. The correlation means reduced odds compared to a standard parlay.

Common Questions

SGPs have higher vig than regular bets, but positive correlations can create +EV opportunities. The key is finding correlated legs where the book doesn't fully account for the connection.

They use algorithms to estimate correlations and reduce payouts accordingly. But these models aren't perfect—sharp bettors find spots where correlations are underpriced.
